Welcome to The 11:11, our new quarterly ritual of calling out the restaurants that matter in Miami right now. Not just the hottest. Not just the hardest to get into. But the ones worth your time, your money, and your appetite.

We split it into 11 Newbies and 11 Staples, because in Miami, we love what’s next but we never forget where we came from.

The 11 | Newbies

1. The Joyce (South Beach)

A new clubhouse for the Miami Beach elite.

Miami's Minetta Tavern reimagined through a modern, cultural lens. The Joyce is bold, moody, and art-filled, with a collection that would feel at home in a private museum. The food is modern steakhouse : caviar latkes, creamed kale, magic city strip (and amazing buffalo chicken wings).

Don’t Miss: Sunday Chinese. Self explanatory.

2. Shiso (Wynwood)

For those of us who crave the original KYU.

The new KYU — literally, from the chef who created KYU. Fire, smoke, Japanese soul. Already feels essential.

Don’t Miss: Uni Rice, Smoked Sticky Ribs, Corn Bread, and a variety of tasty Handrolls.

3. Chateau ZZ’s (Brickell)

Tulum with a tuxedo.

What Mr. Chow is to Chinese, this is to Mexican. Bougie spot, the finest tequilas, table-side guac, and a ribeye with sauces and accoutrement. And the build - absolutely one of the most stunning locations in Miami. Yes, it’s extra. Yes, we’re here for it.

Don’t Miss: Yuzu Serrano Martini. Wagyu Truffle Toastada. Whole Branzino Rojo Y Verde

4. Maple & Ash: (Miami Worldcenter - thats a neighborhood right?)

Chicago steakhouse with Miami energy.

A steakhouse on performance-enhancing drugs. The nations highest grossing - big energy, big cuts, big pours. Bold, brash, and louder than you’d expect. Spared no expense.

Don’t Miss: Tallow Aged Wagyu Steak, Lobster Dumplings, Dry Aged Meatballs

5. Jon & Vinny’s: Alapattah - Rubell Museum

The best neighborhood Italian restaurant in history, built for now.

Everything we’ve ever wanted in a restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, red sauce, pizza, vibe. Bound for Miami canon.
