WGM: Griffin’s Private Marina, Brickell's Biggest Sale, & Walrus Rodeo is a Gem
From mega yachts to mid-century steals, what’s really happening in Miami right now.
On My Mind: Believe, Then Build
This week in Miami, let’s start with a truth that’s both simple and radical: you become what you believe. Picasso didn’t wake up one day as “Picasso.” He became Picasso through years of struggle, reinvention, and relentless faith in his vision. And in a city built on bold dreams and second acts, that lesson hits home. Miami is full of people manifesting their next chapter, artists, chefs, athletes, developers, and creators, each rewriting their story under the same sun. Manifestation isn’t magic; it’s mindset. Before the masterpiece comes belief. Before the breakthrough comes the story you tell yourself about what’s possible.

Ken Griffin’s Next Flex: A Private Mega Yacht Marina for One
Billionaire Citadel founder Ken Griffin apparently needs more room for his toys — this time, a private megayacht marina on Miami Beach’s Terminal Island. The project, dubbed One Island Park, spans over 30,000 square feet across nearly four acres of waterfront between South Beach and Port Miami. Plans include four buildings — an owner’s pavilion, crew quarters with a rooftop pool and gym, and even pickleball and padel courts — plus slips for up to six yachts. Not for the public, not for rent, just for Ken and friends.
Since relocating Citadel’s headquarters from Chicago in 2022, Griffin has quietly become Miami’s unofficial landlord, amassing more than $1 billion in local real estate, from a $106.9M Coconut Grove estate to a seven-property Star Island compound. His proposed marina adds to the billionaire arms race redefining Miami’s skyline — where the city’s new status symbols aren’t condos or penthouses anymore, but private islands, personal ports, and padel courts on the bay.
