On My Mind: Mahjong Madness & Rosh Hashanah

Happy New Year. The Jewish New Year happens this week. It asks us to pause, reflect, and reset; it’s less about champagne resolutions, more about who we want to become. It’s an opportunity to reflect, remember what matters, and set an intentional path for the future.

In completely unrelated, but equally thrilling news, mahjong has become Miami’s spiritual practice of the moment. From Moms in Miami Beach to Gen Z TikTokers in Brickell, it’s everyone everywhere, hunched over stylish tiles like it’s Tetris circa 1989 on a Game Boy. It’s competitive, social, a little absurd, and, if we’re honest, kind of beautiful.

So as you’re dipping apples in honey this week, remember, life is sweeter when you reshuffle the deck, line up your tiles, and go all in on community.

For much less than the cost of your morning matcha, subscribe to get full access to the intel that matters. Cement your status as an insider and support your community. We love you Miami.
